North-West African states have a growing role to play in ocean governance—and global frameworks should reflect it. As diplomats
French Development Agency (AFD) Director General Rémy Rioux plans to visit Morocco’s southern provinces, as part of the ‘Enhanced Exceptional Partnership’ between the two countries. Rioux’s trip reflects the growing ties between Morocco and France and after his meeting with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on Friday he commented: “The southern provinces form a strategic link with sub-Saharan Africa along the Atlantic facade,” Rioux noted, describing it as “a very important framework for action” for the AFD group.
