Could nuclear energy one day power the Maghreb?
The Maghreb’s energy transition is a complex but critical journey towards sustainability and decarbonization as countries aim to meet
The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a €100 million ($116.4 million) loan to Morocco to boost sustainable agriculture, focusing on women and youth empowerment, it said on Monday. The funds aim to enhance food security and climate resilience for small-scale farmers. The loan extends the AfDB’s 50-year partnership with Morocco, totaling €15 billion across 180 projects. In 2023, the bank committed €254 million to support Morocco’s green transition and digital goals. Agriculture contributes 12% to GDP but remains vulnerable to climate risks, per World Bank data.
