Algeria aims for appeasement in 'Maghreb Union' after Libya critique

Libya has recently rebuffed an Algerian-led initiative to form a Maghreb Union excluding Morocco, prompting Algeria to defuse the situation.

Algeria which has consistently called for a Maghreb Union without Morocco, a key player in the region, now asserts that its efforts to revitalize the regional union are inclusive, aiming to avoid further discord in the Maghreb region.

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf emphasized on Thursday that Algeria advocates for unity, stressing that their plan aims to include all regional players.
