Algeria pins its hopes on desert tourism to help diversify economy
As part of reforms required by the IMF to diversify its economy, Algeria is looking to greatly expand its tourism
Algeria’s state-owned energy giant Sonatrach has awarded Chinese oil and gas contractor Jereh Oil & Gas Engineering a deal worth $855 million to develop facilities at the Rhourde Nouss gas field in southeastern Algeria. Under the deal, Jereh will build a new gas compression station at the Rhourde Nouss field and carry out upgrades on related pipelines.
