Algeria jails presidential hopefuls for electoral fraud

Three Algerian presidential hopefuls, including ex-minister Belkacem Sahli and businesswoman Saida Neghza, were sentenced to 10 years in prison for electoral fraud on Monday, AFP reports. They were among 70 convicted in a mass trial for buying candidate endorsements ahead of the 2024 election won by incumbent Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
