According to reporting by Anadolu, Algeria and Mauritania discussed ongoing security issues in Africa and signed a defense cooperation agreement on Wednesday, although, media reports said details of its contents were not revealed. A statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defense said that Algerian Defense Minister Said Chengriha had met with his Mauritanian counterpart Hanena Ould Sidi Ould Hane. The statement went on to say that both parties discussed “security developments in North Africa and the African continent.”
