Algeria opens mining sector to foreign investors under new law

Algeria has passed a law allowing foreign investment in its mining sector to exploit untapped mineral resources and diversify its economy. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune approved the measure, published in the official gazette last week. The law streamlines procedures, introduces an online portal for mining site data, and offers incentives to boost investor confidence, state media reported. Officials say the reforms aim to attract investment amid rising global demand for critical minerals.
