The AI-powered banking tech firm Backbase announced this week the digital launch of Libyan Islamic Bank (LIB) mobile services. It is Backbase's first platform launch in Libya, as it looks to develop more tech focused banking across North Africa. A major aspect of LIB’s digital leap is its connection with the national financial infrastructure, including the bank’s integration with LYPAY, the Central Bank of Libya’s instant payment service. The LIB-Backbase alliance was also supported by regional implementation partner OneTech Business Solutions (OTBS).
