Biden urges Egypt and Qatar to convince Hamas to agree hostage deal with Israel

Ahead of critical weekend talks President Biden wrote to the leaders of Egypt and Qatar urging them to find a solution to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. President Biden saying that "he urged them to secure commitments from Hamas to agree and abide by a deal."This comes after talks with Israeli Prime Minister asking him to send representatives with full negotiating authority. President Biden has dispatched CIA Director Bill Burns to lead talks and White House officials noted that negotiating a pause in fighting to facilitate the exchange of hostages held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel is the only way to put a temporary cease-fire into effect and boost the flow of badly needed humanitarian aid into the territory.
