The move came after successful negotiations mediated by Morocco, aiding in mending the strained ties between France and Burkina Faso. French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed on X that the released individuals were members of the French armed forces. Capt. Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso’s leader, expressed gratitude for Morocco's diplomatic efforts.
