CAF probes Algeria women’s team over alleged rule breaches at WAFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Thursday it has opened an investigation into Algeria’s women’s team over suspected violations of its statutes during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. CAF did not detail the alleged breaches but said it would not comment further until the process concludes. The probe follows controversies around Algeria’s conduct, including its media omitting references to host nation Morocco in broadcasts. The team remains in the tournament.
