China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi will embark on a diplomatic tour of Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Nigeria from January 5 to 11, as announced by the Chinese Foreign Ministry. This annual tradition marks the 35th consecutive year a Chinese foreign minister has chosen Africa for their initial overseas engagement of the year. Wang's previous African visits in 2024 included Tunisia, Togo, and Cote d’Ivoire
