Moroccan authorities stopped dozens of migrants from breaching the Spanish enclave of Ceuta on Sunday after a mass migration attempt
Eastern Libya’s foreign minister Abdulhadi Lahoui told Moroccan news portal Hespress that “the Maghreb region does not need the creation of new entities, because we have existing institutions that need to be reactivated and reinforced.” He went on to affirm: “Libya, which currently chairs the Arab Maghreb Union, remains attached to this institution and is willing to strengthen cooperation between Maghreb countries, whose trade volume remains low compared to other regional blocs.” It comes a few days after Algerian President called for a regional Maghreb bloc comprising Tunisia, Libya and Algeria.
