Sudan's Agriculture Minister denies there’s a famine in the country

Eighteen individuals, predominantly women, were detained in Cairo at a rally supporting women in conflict-ridden Gaza and Sudan. The event took place at the headquarters of UN Women, a lawyer said on Wednesday.
Prominent activist Lobna Darwish of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) was among those detained at the protest, along with rights lawyers Ragia Omran Mahienour el-Massry and Hossam Bahgat, a leading Egyptian rights defender and founder of the EIPR, he said.
The lawyer said people "who happened to pass by in proximity to the gathering" had also been arrested.
