Egypt close to securing deal for up to 100 South Korean FA-50 light attack aircraft

Egypt is in advanced negotiations with South Korea to buy up to 100 FA-50 light attack aircraft, Egyptian Ambassador to Seoul Khaled Abdelrahman said on Tuesday. The talks, progressing well after months of negotiations, initially focus on an order of 36 jets. Egypt's interest in the FA-50 grew after South Korea's Black Eagles performed at the 2022 Pyramids Air Show. A finalized deal would boost Egypt’s aviation capabilities and strengthen Cairo-Seoul strategic ties.
