Egypt mineral revenues surge 131% on gold, silver boom

Egypt’s revenues from mineral wealth rose 131% year-on-year to nearly $446 million in fiscal year 2024/25, driven by higher gold and silver output, Minister Karim Badawi said Tuesday. Speaking at the Egypt Mining Forum, he said production rose 14% to 640,000 ounces, generating $1.54 billion in sales. Ore output rose 39% to 26 million tonnes. The surge supports Egypt’s Vision 2030 reforms aimed at boosting investment and positioning the country as a global mining hub.
