Egyptian remittances surged 82.7% year-on-year to $26.4 billion in the first nine months of FY2024/2025, according to the Central Bank of Egypt. The third quarter saw a particularly sharp rise, with $9.4 billion sent home—up 86.6% from the previous year. The jump reflects renewed confidence in Egypt’s banking system and the growing financial clout of its overseas workforce.
