Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations during a meeting in New Alamein, Egypt Today reports. Abdelatty dismissed what he called “desperate attempts” by online platforms to damage Cairo-Riyadh ties, describing the relationship as long-standing and resilient.
The ministers reviewed regional developments and joint cooperation under the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, which oversees economic and investment collaboration. Discussions also covered Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and host a postwar reconstruction conference.
On Libya, both sides reiterated support for a political solution led by Libyans, without foreign interference. They also urged an end to hostilities in Sudan and called for the protection of its sovereignty and national institutions.
The ministers jointly condemned Israeli airstrikes in Syria, including recent attacks in Damascus, and demanded Israel withdraw from occupied Syrian territory, including the Golan Heights. The meeting underscored the two countries’ coordinated stance on key regional conflicts.
