Libya rejects EU criticism of Turkey maritime deal
A committee in Libya’s Parliament has rejected the European Commission’s recent finding that Tripoli’s 2019 maritime agreement
Egypt has given opposition figure and former presidential hopeful Hisham Kassem a new six-month prison sentence for defaming a former minister, his lawyer told AFP on Thursday. Kassem was released in February 2024 after serving a six-month sentence that effectively stopped him contesting the December 2023 presidential election. The new sentence was issued in absentia on Wednesday because Kassem is out of the country, his lawyer Nasser Amin told AFP.
