Prominent cardiologist Dr. Gamal Shaaban has urged Egypt's government and private sector to adjust summer work schedules to protect millions from extreme heat. The former National Heart Institute chief proposed splitting shifts—some starting at 6 a.m., others after sunset—to limit heat exposure for the country's 17 million workers.
"Temperatures are rising dangerously," Shaaban warned during a TV medical program, citing health risks. The proposal aims to reduce heat-related illnesses as Egypt faces scorching summer conditions.
