The Egyptian government has reached a landmark agreement with Stellantis and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) to exclusively manufacture a new Stellantis car model in Egypt by the end of 2026, Egypt Today reports. Egypt’s Presidency, citing AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif, said the project will aim for an annual output of 240,000 vehicles—built solely at AOI’s facilities, not replicated elsewhere globally.
President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi underscored the deal’s role in accelerating localisation of component manufacturing, fostering public–private collaboration, and boosting exports. AOI already assembles the Citroën C4X with 45 per cent local parts—producing 7,000 units per year since prototypes emerged in March 2025.
Latif added that the Stellantis initiative complements a broader industrial vision: upgrading AOI’s factories, deepening private-sector engagement, and scaling up Egypt’s automotive export capacity, marking a strategic pivot toward domestic high‑value manufacturing.
