Egypt willing to temporarily absorb half a million evacuated Gazans, says report

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that Egypt is prepared to host half a million Gazans in a temporary relocation to a designated city in Northern Sinai, according to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar. The comment was allegedly made during a conference in Saudi Arabia.  This proposition, aimed at alleviating the Gaza Strip's crisis, has elicited concern from Jordan, who has previously taken a strong stance against such a move.
