Egypt’s readymade clothing exports surge in 2024

Exports by Egypt’s clothing sector jumped 35 percent in January 2024 to $259 million, according to the country’s Readymade Garment Export Council. The United States became the largest export market, with sales up 18 percent to $106 million. Clothing exports to Europe saw a 42% rise, hitting $54 million compared to $38 million in January 2023. Meanwhile Turkish imports of Egyptian clothing soared by 62%, reaching $24 million. Exports to Arab countries grew by 54%, to $57 million. Among Arab countries, the UAE was the top importer at $23 million.
