EllaLink has signed a deal with Mauritania's digital ministry to construct a second international subsea cable connecting the country to Europe and Brazil, the company said. The 500km extension will branch from EllaLink's existing Portugal-Brazil route, with a new landing station in Nouadhibou. Built by Alcatel Submarine Networks and co-funded by EU institutions, the two-fiber-pair system is set for completion by early 2027.
