The NGO SOS Mediterranee accused Libya’s coastguard of firing on its vessel, the Ocean Viking, while it carried 87 rescued migrants in international waters north of Libya, reports Euronews. No injuries were reported, but the ship and equipment sustained damage. The group condemned the incident as “outrageous” and called for an investigation, while urging the EU to end cooperation with Libya over migrant interceptions.
