Floating offshore oil platform runs aground off Tunisia
An offshore oil platform that was being towed from Scotland to Turkey has run aground near a beach off Tunisia&
Spanish news outlet ECOtcias has reported that the British exploration firm, Europa Oil & Gas, announced finding reserves estimated at 1 billion tons within the Inzegane permit area. Europa Oil & Gas holds a 75% stake in the permit, with the remaining 25% owned by Morocco. Located just 200 kilometers from the Canary Islands and 100 kilometers from Spain’s maritime boundary, the discovery could bolster the company’s fortunes after a disappointing financial year. It could also bolster Morocco’s energy portfolio.
