Italian court upholds migration funding to IOM for Libya crisis
Italy's Lazio regional court upheld a 2019 government decision to allocate 2 million euros ($2.1 million) from
French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau visited Rabat on Monday to discuss migration, organised crime, and drug trafficking with his Moroccan counterpart, Abdelouafi Laftit, AFP reported. The visit reflects improved Franco-Moroccan ties following France’s 2024 recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. In contrast, relations with Algeria—an ally of the separatist Polisario Front—have deteriorated, with Algiers expelling 12 French officials on Monday, prompting Paris to warn of a swift response.
