Egypt has announced plans to build a 1,680-acre desert city, Jirian, diverting 7% of its annual Nile water quota
A convoy of 14 buses and around 100 other vehicles, carrying hundreds of people, crossed the Tunisian border on Tuesday into Libya, as they attempt to break Israel's blockade on the Palestinian territory, organizers told AFP. Ghassen Henchiri, a spokesman, told Jawhara FM radio channel that the convoy plans to remain in Libya for "three or four days" before crossing into Egypt and continuing to Rafah. Egyptian authorities have not yet provided passage to enter the country, but Henchiri said the convoy received "reassuring" information.
