IMF says Egypt making progress on stability

Egypt has advanced toward macroeconomic stability and improved tax administration but must expand its tax base, the IMF said Tuesday after a review mission. The team assessed Egypt's $8 billion loan program, noting upgraded 2024/25 growth forecasts to 3.8%. "Substantial progress" was made, said mission chief Vladkova Hollar, though reforms must continue.
