In Cairo meeting Libya’s major parties agree on forming unified government

According to reports by the Libyan Observer and Reuters: three key Libyan leaders said on Sunday they had agreed on the "necessity" of forming a new unified government that would supervise long-delayed elections.
This agreement took place during a tripartite meeting on Sunday in Cairo at the invitation of the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in an effort to bring views closer and end the political impasse through a Libyan-Libyan dialogue. A political process to resolve more than a decade of conflict in Libya has been stalled since an election scheduled for December 2021 collapsed amid disputes over the eligibility of the main candidates.
