UN Official: Morocco to play key economic integration role across Africa
Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th edition of the Fez-Meknes Economic Forum, earlier this week, Adam Elhiraika, Director of
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi is embarking on a five-nation tour of Africa, Latin America, and West Asia in early July, as Modi looks to promote bilateral economic cooperation and support for continued anti-terror policies, according to Indian press services. Morocco will be the first country on the tour and Modi is expected to meet with King Mohammed VI during his stay in Rabat. Indian media outlets described the relationship between Morocco and India as one of a “strategic partner” with rising regional influence, with India’s Economic Times rereferring to Morocco as “one of the key Arab states with a growing economy, and strong outreach in West Africa and southern Europe.”
