In a joint statement issued after a recent meeting between Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Iranian counterpart President Ebrahim Raisi, discussed expanding their economic and political ties. Stating that they would find “ways to strengthen it as much as possible to realize the interests of the two countries and two brotherly nations, in the framework of the common political will to strengthen brotherly relations and solidarity.” The growing alliance between Algeria and Iran has major implications for the region as previously reported by MI, not least in the supply of drones by Iran to Algeria for support offered to the Polisario Front.
