Irregular migration to Italy plummets as migrants accumulate in Tunisia

Italy has seen a significant decline in arrivals from Africa following the implementation of a partnership with Tunisia aimed at curbing migration from the North African nation. 

As a result, approximately 15,000 migrants are estimated to be stranded in Tunisia, according to the UN's migration organization.

In April, Italy and Tunisia agreed on a plan to reduce irregular migration, a foreign policy priority for Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.
