Islamic State terror threat in the Sahel is expanding across the region

According to analysts at the geopolitical risk consultancy Control Risks, Islamic State is increasingly focused on exploiting security gaps beyond their core Sahelian strongholds. Beverly Ochieng has stated that "IS Sahel has seen that its expansion could be directed much further West and much further North, and Morocco would be one place which would be of strategic interest to it." This comes after the dismantling of a recent terror cell in the kingdom.
