Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni traveled to Libya on Tuesday, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, to sign a series of cooperation agreements focusing on health, education, research, youth, and sports.
This marks her second visit to the North African nation since assuming office in October 2022.
During the visit, Meloni met with Abdelhamid Dbeibah, the leader of the Tripoli-based government, according to Libyan officials.
The agreements signed were described by the Italian government as "declarations of intent" aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
