The trip follows recent White House meetings with five African countries, including Mauritania, as well as tensions over tariffs for some Maghreb countries. Sources tell local Moroccan media that this latest ‘diplomatic mission prioritizes conflict resolution and will promote a “commerce rather than aid” doctrine as Washington pivots its strategy on the African continent. The tour is also set to include Libya and Tunisia.
