Morocco's southern provinces showcase green transition at London forum
Morocco's southern regions took center stage at London's Innovation Zero World summit this week, highlighting their
King Mohammed VI met on Monday with the foreign ministers of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger at the Royal Palace in Rabat. In attendance were Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, Burkina Faso’s FM, Abdoulaye Diop, FM and Minister for International Cooperation of Mali, and Bakary Yaou Sangare, Niger’s FM for its transitional government. Discussions focused on King Mohammed VI’s Royal Atlantic Initiative to promote Sahel nations access to the Atlantic. Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger formally endorsed the initiative by Morocco to give them access to the Atlantic Ocean, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The foreign ministers of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger noted their “full support for and commitment to accelerating its implementation,” during the royal meeting, the ministry said. The foreign ministers also presented an update on the development of the Alliance of Sahel States.
