Lebanese President Michel Aoun commended Morocco’s historic diplomacy in securing the 1989 Taif Agreement, which ended Lebanon’s civil war, during talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Algiers. Aoun hailed Arab nations, including Algeria and Saudi Arabia, for their roles in the deal. The agreement, brokered in Saudi Arabia, helped stabilize Lebanon amid internal and external conflicts. Aoun also thanked Algeria for its ongoing support for Lebanese stability.
