Libya’s Interior Minister, Imad Trabelsi, held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, in Rome to discuss ways in which both countries could take joint action to reduce illegal migration. The high-level talks, attended by senior Libyan and Italian diplomats, focused on developing increased security cooperation and ways to tackle migration across the Mediterranean. According to Libya media the meeting highlighted a “shared commitment to regional stability and reinforced bilateral security ties between the two nations.”
