Libya requests ICC prosecutor to redirect attention to Gaza

Libya's representative to the UN, Taner El Sonni, has called on the International Criminal Court's Prosecutor, Karim Khan, to pivot the court's attention towards Gaza, citing a stagnant 13-year probe into Libya as ineffective, according The National news.

The ICC has been involved in Libya since the Security Council's 2011 referral following Muammar Qaddafi's regime's violent suppression of protestors.

Despite opening investigations and issuing several arrest warrants, including one for Saif Al Islam Qaddafi, the ICC has yet to hold any trials concerning Libya.
