In the space of 24 hours both Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued statements that strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. FM Bourita, speaking on the on the sidelines of an African conference on artificial intelligence, said that “the situation is very dangerous there, and the Kingdom strongly condemns it.” Bourita also reiterated King Mohammed VI’s approach, that peace will not be achieved without the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Libya’s Government of National Unity went on to state “that this assault by the (Israeli) occupation constitutes a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law and a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement.”
