RSF’s Director General Thibaut Bruttin met with Mauritania’s Minister of Culture & Communication, El Housseine Ould Medou this week as part of a regional tour of West African nations to discuss press freedom. The meeting focused on Mauritania’s establishment of a high Commission to initiate reforms in the press sector—including a series of “legal and institutional changes aimed at reinforcing journalistic integrity and democratic transparency.”
