Mauritanian authorities detain 20 migrants bound for Spain

Mauritanian authorities in Nouadhibou have detained 20 irregular migrants of various nationalities preparing to travel to Spain, the gendarmerie said on Thursday. Three were women, including two minors, but their nationalities were undisclosed. Security forces also arrested an alleged key associate of the operation's foreign organizer. The crackdown is part of Mauritania's efforts to combat irregular migration and disrupt smuggling networks.
