Mauritania shut down nearly 150 migrant smuggling networks in 2024, with dozens more disrupted in just the first few months
According to the New Times Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani arrived in Kigali on Saturday participate in the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi scheduled for April 7. He joins several other leaders attending Kwibuka 30 in Rwanda, including Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Czech Republic President Petr Pavel, and President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar. The commemoration day marks the beginning of a week-long series of events to honour the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, which claimed the lives of more than one million people in 100 days.
