Morocco’s Minister of Energy Leila Benali has announced the launch of a
‘call for interest’ to develop the country’s natural gas infrastructure.
Speaking at the 16th Energy Conference in Ouarzazate, she revealed
plans for Morocco’s very first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at the
Nador West Med port. According to local media, the new LNG terminal will
be connected to the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline (GME) through a
network of gas pipelines and is part of a $6 billion investment plan to
strengthen Morocco’s gas capacity.
