Mohamed El Bouhmadi, the President of the Moroccan Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry and Innovation, has highlighted the potential for Morocco to generate up to $632.7 million if it can capture at least 10-15% of the European market for legalized cannabis. In April last year, the Moroccan National Agency for Regulating Activities Related to Cannabis issued 2,905 authorizations for legal cannabis production. Morocco passed Law 13-21 on the legal use of cannabis in 2021, allowing itself to be part of a growing list of African countries that are approving the use of cannabis for therapeutic purposes.
