Libya, Turkey set $5B trade target
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced during an official visit to Tripoli, that Libya and Turkey have agreed to establish
CAF President Patrice Motsepe hailed Morocco as his “second home” and praised its growing influence on African football development during his visit to Rabat for the Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations final, Morocco World News reports.
He commended the country’s organization, unity, and leadership in the sport, highlighting support from King Mohammed VI, the government, and the Moroccan people.
Motsepe expressed pride in working alongside Fouzi Lekjaa, CAF’s first vice-president,
“When I asked the CAF Executive Committee to choose five vice-presidents, many names were proposed, but I was determined to pick the best. I am confident I chose the right man, and I believe most football associations in Africa agree with me.”
Later that evening, Morocco’s women’s futsal team made history, clinching the inaugural African Cup of Nations title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Tanzania. After falling behind 2-0, Morocco responded with goals from Doha El Madani, Drissia Korrych, and Jasmine Demraoui, the latter scoring the match-winner in the final seconds.
Both teams have qualified for the first FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in the Philippines later this year.
It’s another notch for Moroccan football as it prepares to co-host the world’s largest football event, the FIFA World Cup in 2030.
