Morocco–EU trade reaches historic peak in 2024
Trade between Morocco and the European Union soared to a record-breaking $65 billion in 2024, according to an announcement from
Morocco and the European Union (EU) have agreed a $200 million financing arrangement to help in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of disaster-hit areas following the 2023 Al Haouz earthquake. The earthquake, recorded on September 8, 2023, was the strongest in Morocco’s history, with a magnitude of 6.8. According to reporting by Reuters the EU will increase its total quake reconstruction aid to Morocco to 1 billion euros, Varhelyi told a press conference in Rabat following talks with Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
