Morocco is ramping up investment in desalination, dams, and water transfer projects to counter prolonged drought and protect its agricultural base, The Arab Weekly reports. With 17 plants operating and 13 more planned, the country aims to produce 1.7 billion m³ of desalinated water annually by 2030. A UAE-backed waterway and renewable energy plan will further bolster supply to drought-hit farming regions.
