Formula 1 could return to Africa as Morocco plans a $1.2 billion motorsport complex near Tangier, RacingNews365 has learned. The project includes a Grade 1 circuit capable of hosting F1, MotoGP, and WEC races, alongside hotels, a marina, and entertainment facilities, potentially creating 10,000 jobs. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed discussions with three African countries but warned a deal isn’t imminent. While South Africa’s Kyalami faces delays and Rwanda has lodged a bid, Morocco’s Tangier location—close to Europe—and $800 million in secured private funding strengthen its case. Final approval is pending.
